Information You Enter
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies those results. Belmont Residents Directory does not keep a copy of the search. If you contact us, we receive the contents of your message and use them to respond.
Routine Technical Logs
Hosting systems may record an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. Those details are reviewed in aggregate for reliability and traffic trends. Basic analytics, cookies, or advertising measurement technologies may also be used when enabled by the service configuration.
How the Information Is Used
The purposes are operating the pages, fixing faults, measuring visits, and improving the reference. Visitor lists are not sold, and individual user profiles are not built from these records.
External Portals and Services
Pages link to county and state portals, library collections, archives, and sponsored search tools. Once you leave Belmont Residents Directory, the receiving service’s privacy policy controls what you submit. Sponsored results are supplied by a separate provider.
Who May Process It
Hosting and technical providers may process server logs in order to operate the pages. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Disclosure is made when valid legal process requires it, or when necessary to provide the service.
Security and Retention
The pages use an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only as long as the purposes above require. Because there are no visitor accounts, Belmont Residents Directory does not hold a password or user profile that can be exposed here.
Visitors Under 18
These pages are intended for adults and are not directed to children. Belmont Residents Directory does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if a minor may have sent information, and the information will be removed from the records we control.
Your California Privacy Rights
California’s Consumer Privacy Act, including Civil Code sections 1798.105 and 1798.120, may provide rights to know, access, correct, delete, or opt out of sale or sharing for covered personal information. Since Belmont Residents Directory keeps very little, a request usually involves checking the contact mailbox and applicable server logs, then deleting information within our control. Use the Contact page to ask. The California Public Records Act, Government Code sections 7920.000 through 7931.000, does not give this private reference control over records held by Belmont, San Mateo County, or another custodian. Requests about those records belong with the office that created or maintains them.
